My Favorite Travel Accessories

I’m off to Dallas for RewardStyle‘s annual conferenceAnd thought I would share with you all some of my favorite travel accessories including this luggage and this tote that is on sale! Long time ago, in a faraway land, I worked in the corporate world flying around the country for work. I had clients in NYC, LA, Miami & Dallas just to name a few and loved any chance I got to be “on location.”

I love to travel. I am naturally drawn to it and will take any opportunity to see new places, eat new food, or experience new towns. I’ve been known to pack a PB&J or ten to afford a great trip and one time my girlfriend from college and I went to Italy by flying buddy passes, staying with friends who were studying aboard and also staying at a (gasp) hostel or two to afford the trip. I know when it is best to save and when it is best to spend. Once in a lifetime meal in Florence, Italy… spend. Eating en route to your final destination only because you are starving…. save.

I have had the save mentality far too long when it comes to luggage. I can’t count how many Marshalls suitcase wheels I have damaged or how many handles I bent while dragging my luggage down the stairs. I am very picky about my luggage, and I spent $100 on it again and again. I decided that it was time to get a big-girl hard-shell suitcase. I was able to score this beautiful cream suitcaseIt was half-off during black Friday last year and I love it! The one side has a zip container to store all your stuff and the other has a hanger area to hang up your hang-up clothes. Simply place the hangers on your car, fold in half, and secure with a piece or fabric. I’ve shared on insta-stories before but I can do a follow-up breakdown if you all are interested. Admittedly cream wasn’t’ the smartest of choices but it’s oh-so-pretty and I just couldn’t resist. Plus now that I’m a mom nothing scares me in the realm of dirt. One Mr. Clean eraser is all I need to get rid of any dirt or smudges.

This is my favorite thing about my bag. Tory Burch tote. I have had this one for a long time and it’s great for an overnight bag but honestly it’s just too wide at the base to travel with. I needed something big enough to hold my laptop, camera, and makeup bag, but also had the structure to organize everything. This bag is a great choice for anyone looking for a versatile bag.

Comfortable clothing is a must when I travel. t-shirt, stretchy jeansAnd wedges.Yes, wedges. I’m sorry but they just take up too much room in my suitcase, we rarely book connecting flights if we can help it so I don’t have to run to catch a plane, plus they are comfy. You get used to wearing wedges if your legs are short. Also flats just make me feel dumpy unless I’m extra dressed up or wearing a blazer. For spring/summer travel, I will be wearing this casual outfit. However, you will see me in wedges. Hate me if you want it’s just who I am.
