Moonshot: A Journey Home, a new physics-based puzzle game, is now available to play on Apple Arcade. Apple’s mobile gaming service has more than 200 games to play for $5 a month or $60 annually. New games, content and updates are added every week.

Moonshot: A Journey Home casts you as Moon Pi, a young moon trying to find the way home. Travel across the universe with a mix of slingshot gameplay and puzzle solving. Avoid black holes and aliens as you try to find your way back to Mother Earth.

The game was created by Morsel Interactive, a husband-and-wife developer duo Milan Cubic and Valentina Bregovic. According to the self-proclaimed “space geeks, the idea for Moonshot originally sparked from imagining a game of mini-golf in space. Eventually the story of a curious Moon wandering away from Earth emerged. The team wanted to explore the the dependency between the Earth and the Moon.

“[The] best analogy, that we found, was connection between mother and child,” Cubic said. “We fell in love with the relatable, heart warming aspect of mother-child bond. [P]lus [the] full Moon looking like a giant golf ball helped.”

Cubic and Bregovic hope players new to slingshot games will take their time, and embrace the challenge of aiming and calculating the moon’s trajectory.
