Horoscopes for the Sun in Taurus 2022

The Eclipse season begins, and Venus snuggles up to Jupiter & Neptune

Taurus season is eclipse season because of the North Node of the Moon located in Taurus. This could be the year that we find out that not all eclipses can be treated equally.

Between April 27th April 30thVenus joins Jupiter, Neptune, and Jupiter in the cuddle-fest of Jupiter, the planet of abundance. This combination is heady, transcendental and divine. This is the time of year when we most need this soul-irrigation. We’re craving the suppleness to trust and love and merge.

Reality and its red warnings will become distant memories. They will disappear as quickly as dreams when we wake up. It is easy to lose yourself in this line-up. There are many healthy and unhealthy ways to do this.

Two very different eclipses in one story

On April 30thVenus and Jupiter are joined by Jupiter in Pisces’ degree of exaltation, the highest point of honor in this sign. This is one of most exciting alignments of this year, but it also happens on the same day that a total eclipse of the sun. The energy is far from stable. This is not the time to start new ventures. Instead, it is a time to rest and receive. Get fed. Get hydrated. Do something that makes your skin glow.

Venus rules this eclipse in Taurus, and with the planet of love so well-placed, there’s a chance this flickering of the lights could feel lighter than it sometimes does. Even though the foundations may be a bit wobbly, there could be plenty of joy, pleasure, and inspiration on this day.

The “wobble” of eclipse season will grow more apparent as we enter the month of May. On May 5thThe Sun and Uranus are joined by the Sun. Uranus is the planet of surprise, disruption, and disruption. Whatever niggling thoughts we were ignoring while trance-dancing with Venus, Jupiter, and Neptune — they come crashing back into our awareness.

As the Sun climbs into (a.k.a. The North Node) May 13thAmbient volatility is up a gear. The thing about the North Node — and North Node eclipses, like the one on April 30th — they’re hungry. They may not always make the right choices, just like someone who forgets to eat in a grocery shop.

The consequences are evident May 15thThe Sun squares Saturn on the same date as the lunar eclipse of Scorpio. Contrary to the nectars of the and the bunny holes in the April 30th eclipse, this second outage occurs on the venom-laced dragon’s tail. This is the first eclipse we will see in Scorpio. Occurring in a square to Saturn, the planet of reality checks, consequences, and restrictions, we won’t be able to ignore any inconvenient truths.

Balance the hunger with letting it go

The South Node is the opposite of the North Node, which satisfies our need for more. In reality, we need both drives to chase what we want and to let go of what is no longer necessary. It is not always easy to let go of the dragon’s scales.

These eclipse cycles are part of a larger story. The nodes of Pluto will remain in Scorpio and Taurus through July 2023. It may seem like an end, but it could be a wonderful beginning. There’s only one way to find out.

Aries glyph

Aries & Aries Rising

Your finances are an area where you can be systematic. You create new income streams like seedlings in the earth. You take your time with them, taking in every inch of their growth.

With Uranus in Taurus from 2018, your relationship to your resources has been changing. Now with the North Node here too, you might be rattling for more — more abundance, more security, more trust in feeling safe.

These themes will be amplified by the April 30th eclipse. Whatever you’re striving for when it comes to your livelihood, your relationship with material security, or even your self-worth — you’re propelled by a gust of urgency. The urgency could be entirely self-created, but that doesn’t make it easier to ignore.

The balm of this moment relates to your mental health, as well as any habits you’ve had of getting in your own way. It’s not that these habits are banished entirely — that’s a lifelong work — but your interior realms are providing some respite. While it may feel hard to detect (or trust), you’re moving about the world with a halo of strength and protection.

On May 15th, the eclipse in Scorpio opens the sink drain in your place of grief, collaboration, and other people’s money. Any sorrows you’ve been clutching onto may start to claim less of your heart space.

If you’re engaged in a collaboration, or you share resources with another person, or you’re currently seeking funds from outside sources, this eclipse in Scorpio could feel like an unplugging. It could feel like you’re losing something. At the same time, you’re weeding the plots, and preparing the soil, for something precious.

It’s okay if you don’t know what that is yet.

Taurus glyph

Taurus & Taurus Rising

The world was then redirected to Taurus-time. Suddenly you’re not the only one crushing roses with a mortar and pestle to extract their essential oils. Or maybe you are. But your friends are more accepting of your pacing.

The Taurus Sun’s dappled light may seem like a laser projector. The spot of your body and vitality, as well as your sense of self, is where the solar eclipse of April 30th takes place.

On a physical level, you may feel like you’re vibrating with energy, urgency, and desire. This could be a desire for love or erotica, or it could simply be a desire for your place in the world. Whatever you’re angling for, it may feel all-consuming at the end of April. You’re coming into your own in a beautiful (and possibly terrifying) way.

Venus, the ruler of this eclipse, has been enjoying the sun and Neptune in Pisces. For you, that’s your place of community, so friends could play a role in what’s unfurling for you now. This, or you have a few witnesses to your glorious being.

When we experience growth in one area, we tend see a winnowing effect in another. This could be your relationships and commitments. The Scorpio eclipse of May 15th could bring about a letting-go in this area. It could also allow for the release of old patterns and ways to be with one another. Your relationships will need transformation.

This is the first of three Scorpion eclipses. The story is only just beginning.

Gemini glyph

Gemini & Gemini Rising

For you, Taurus season can mean nap season. There’s something about the reliable solidity of this earth sign that allows you to slow your Gemini wing beats. Taurus also happens to be your 12th House for solitude and retreat. This is the place you allow yourself to be unsocial for a while. This is where you can direct your darting curiosity towards your inner world rather than the outside world.

Your inner world may feel less solid due to the Taurus eclipse on April 30th. The ancients described the 12th House as the “place of self-undoing.” However you tend to unlace the threads of your progress, or feel frayed at the edges — those patterns may rear themselves at the end of April.

You may be experiencing extraordinary professional growth with Venus, Jupiter, Neptune all canoodling through Pisces. You might even find that this could be the trigger of some of your spin cycles. We are afraid of disappointing people when we receive praise and adulation.

On May 15th, the next eclipse in this series will be in Scorpio, which is your place for work and well-being. Maybe you’ve worked yourself into such a frenzy that your body is now hollering at you to slow down. Or there’s some aspect of your daily toil, or a wellness routine, that needs modification.

There’s a layer of dragon skin to molt in this area, but it won’t happen overnight. This is part of your metamorphosis in the next year. There’s nothing for you to do now but give your body the rest and replenishment it craves.

Cancer glyph

Cancer & Cancer Rising

Taurus is the community garden in your chart. This is where you can meet like-minded souls and plant something together. With an eclipse in this area on April 30th, your crops may look a little mutated this year — like two-pronged carrots, or eggplants with oblong noses.

Venus, the ruler this eclipse, is swimming circles around Jupiter and Neptune (Pisces). This could mean that your social life can be interwoven with your intellectual or spiritual pursuits. Whether you’re in college, an astrology study group, book club, or a wisdom path of your own making — you’re hungry to share knowledge with the collective.

And you’re hungry for friendship. You’re craving a deep sense of social belonging, which has possibly felt bumpy in recent years. It’s possible to be extremely fertile at times, but also somewhat precarious.

The Scorpio eclipse of May 15th will open the trapdoor to your place for pleasure and creativity. It may be more difficult to find fun. You may feel removed from the pleasures of your body — the foods that usually lift your spirits. The scents. The music. The touch.

This is temporary — and it’s only the beginning.

Until July 2023, you’re rewriting your relationship with creativity, sensuality, and fun. Except there’s actually nothing for you to do but ride these waves, and open yourself to delight in strange places. It may not be where you’ve looked for it in the past.

Leo glyph

Leo & Leo Rising

Whether you’re a stay-at-home parent with a side-gig selling home-thrown earthenware, or an actor with IMDB credits, or a latte art champion barista — Taurus season brings visibility to your vocational sphere.

Except that this year, the lights are flickering. The April 30th eclipse can make you yearn for more. With the ruler of this eclipse, Venus, basking in Pisces, your holding zone for everything you’ve loved and lost, your relationship with grief could be fuelling your appetite. The ways you’re striving on the world’s stage are helping to metabolize your sorrows.

As your career blossoms, you may feel more distant from your family or home. The May 15th Scorpion eclipse could signal a tender farewell or letting go.

Maybe you’re shedding an identity that you’ve performed for family so that you can step into a more authentic role. Or maybe you’re turning away from certain responsibilities in order to give yourself more fully to your career.

Eclipses can help us see where we are out of balance. This could be a Taurus season. However, it will take time — over a year — to recalibrate.

If there’s one thing that Scorpio, Taurus, and Leo all have in common, it’s the ability to burn slow. Despite all the urgency you may be feeling now, there’s no rush to figure anything out. You have your own growth rhythm, just like lime trees that bear fruit or crocuses that sprout from the ground. You’re exactly on time.

Virgo glyph

Virgo & Virgo Rising

Taurus season smells to you like an old book or the frankincense pebbles burning on your altar. Taurus is your temple and library. This is the place where you merge with something larger — whether that’s Spirit, or philosophy, or some far-flung locale.

You may feel less in control of your self expansion around April 30th. Your “merging” may occur with another heart or mind, as Venus, Jupiter, and Neptune soften the edges between you and other people. Right now, you’re exceptionally porous. Love becomes your greatest mentor: whether that’s romantic love, platonic love, or the love you feel for the cosmos or natural world.

This could also be a good time to meet a mentor. Be careful not to underestimate yourself in this equation.

On May 15th, the next eclipse will flicker the lights at Scorpio, your place for communication, siblings, daily interactions, rituals, and the local environment. You’re letting go of something here. Maybe your relationship with a sibling is undergoing its own transformation, or you’re re-appraising how you work with words to express yourself.

Sometimes facts that you thought were true can reveal new aspects or loopholes. In a way, isn’t there something freeing about that? Even truth is evolving — like you.

Libra glyph

Libra & Libra Rising

When the Sun warms into Taurus it lights up your area of grief, collaboration, or the resources you share. This is your place where you are lost and not yet found. This is where you can share parts of yourself with your intimate partners. You can trade in emotions as well as more tangible mediums of exchange here.

The April 30th eclipse brings a surge of energy to this area of your chart. You may be barreling into collaborations with other people — whether in love, art, or business. You may approach such ventures with a measured approach, but the North Node of Taurus can bring a certain frenzy. If it feels vital to sign on the dotted line now — question your urgency. Is it real, or fabricated?

The next eclipse will be on May 15th and it will feel even more cathartic.

You’re letting something go when it comes to your relationship with money, livelihood, or material security. Maybe you’re stepping back from one income stream to find another more aligned with your values. Or maybe you’re actively trying to shed old narratives around money, or fears around scarcity, which have been keeping you stuck.

No matter how this eclipse season unfolds, your focus will shift between what belongs and what belongs to you. It is possible to find a way of balancing these extremes. However, this will take time. These signs will still have the lunar nodes through July 2023. Until then, there’s nothing for you to do but open to the current of change. Let it move.

Scorpio glyph

Scorpio & Scorpio Rising

The Sun melts into Taurus and lights the beeswax tapers at your table for two. This is where you will be committed to someone, whether they are in love or business partnership. You may feel hungry for connection now that the North Node has entered Taurus in January. This hunger will be amplified by the solar eclipse of April 30th.

Ironically, this might actually be a time when you experience new levels of pleasure and sensuality — with another person or solo. Your body will be a place of bliss when Venus, the ruler of this eclipse, and your relationships, is in Pisces. All surfaces can experience delight: your tongue and your hands, as well as the skin behind your ears.

You start to see a different side of yourself as you seek new depths with pleasure and other people. With the Scorpio eclipse on May 15th in particular, you’re releasing something essential. Maybe a persona that’s grown stale, or a role that no longer fits you.

This is a time when your energy may feel low. It’s important to play as hard as you can. Otherwise, there’s nothing for you to do but let the energies of this moment rock through you. Before the caterpillar sprouts its wings, there’s a phase where it must turn to mush. If your sense of self starts to feel wobbly at times, know that it’s all part of your metamorphosis.

Sagittarius glyph

Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising

Taurus is your chart’s workshop, whether it looks like a coffee shop or science lab. This is where you do all your gruntwork, whatever it may be in your day to-day. It’s also the area dedicated to your overall maintenance — from flossing teeth to lifting weights to juicing carrots to sifting clumps from the litter box.

This part of your day will be a frenzy due to the solar eclipse that occurs on April 30th. With the ruler of this eclipse, Venus, so well-placed in Pisces, it could be “good frenzy,” such as the havoc wreaked (and reeked) by freshly adopted kittens. Pisces is the sign that corresponds to your home and family. Therefore, the chaos created now could be a long-awaited domestic renovation.

The Scorpio eclipse on May 15, 2015 could feel even more shadowy. Because it occurs in the most hidden corner of your chart, you may not be able to put your thumb on what’s troubling you. This is when self-limiting thoughts and habits could come back into your awareness. Know that it’s only then, when such patterns reveal themselves, that you can begin the work of detangling them.

That’s what these Scorpio eclipses will be about for you: shedding any part of your mental machinery that’s holding you back. You’re already an expert at bucking free from external fetters. You may as well apply the same standards — of freedom — to your own mind.

Capricorn glyph

Capricorn & Capricorn Rising

The Sun warms the Taurus season loam, and heat seeps into your chart’s fun house. This is where you create and play. This could be anything from massaging clay into tea cups to strumming a guitar or exploring the pleasure centers of your own body.

The April 30th eclipse could make it seem like you are running out of time to have fun or express your creativity. There could be so many ideas storming through you, you feel panicked you won’t get them all down. North Node eclipses have a way of kindling our desire and striving for “more” — whatever you’re yearning for more of.

The countermeasure is slowing down. You’re in a moment where your immediate environment is the source of beauty and inspiration. When was the most recent time you stopped to smell plum blossoms in the air? Have you ever wiped a scent on your forearm to see if it got mixed with your own musks? When was the last time you put a piece of chocolate on your tongue and let it melt.

On May 15th, the next eclipse will take place in Scorpio, your home of friendship and community. There’s something you’re shedding in this area. Maybe you’re drifting away from friendships you’ve outgrown, or you’re entering new phases of them. You’re releasing old patterns of relating that glue you to flattened versions of yourself.

Let’s grow. This is how you grow.

Aquarius glyph

Aquarius & Aquarius Rising

Taurus is the hearthstone in your chart. It is your home and family. The smells, sounds and textures of home can feel subtly disorienting since 2018, and even more so from January. These shifts may be amplified by a Taurus eclipse that occurred on April 30th.

Perhaps your family is experiencing a change that feels very unsettling. You might be attempting to get more freedom at your home. This is a North Node moon eclipse. The North Node can make us hungry. What are you looking for in terms of a sense or rootedness or belonging?

This eclipse is Venus’ answer to Pisces, where she is luxuriating. You may find your pockets are more generous than ever before. These changes could cause you to ponder what kind of home or family your dream home might look like.

Acknowledge the questions as they arise, but don’t feel a need to answer them yet.

The Scorpio eclipse on May 15, 2015 will flicker the lights in your career area. There’s something you’re turning away from here. One aspect of your public life is beginning to overwhelm you. Ask yourself whether you’re still living by the ideals and goals you set ten years ago. Consider how you’ve transformed since then. Because you have.

Pisces glyph

Pisces & Pisces Rising

As the Sun shines into Taurus, it lights up the black mirrors on your smartphone and other screens. This is the place of your daily exchanges — whether they arrive in the form of texts, emails, small talk with neighbors, or initials scratched in the bark of a tree.

Your local environment could be affected by an eclipse that will occur in this sign on April 30, 2019. Venus, who rules this eclipse, is currently swanning with Jupiter and Neptune in Pisces — so there’s a chance this could be a “disturbance” of a happy nature.

Like the distractedness that comes with new love. Or the disorientation of a new city, where you can’t daydream through town on autopilot. This is still an eclipse. It’s an outage. It could cause your communications and daily rhythms to go out of whack at the end April.

Part 2 of the eclipse series is a bit like having heartburn after a decadent meal. With the dragon’s tail knotted around the Moon in Scorpio, the lunar eclipse on May 15th will open the sink drain in your place of higher education, spiritual pursuits, and travel.

There’s something here you’re outgrowing, or moving beyond. Whether it’s a college program, or a less easily defined path of wisdom — something has lost its luster. Or it may need to shed its own scales in order to grow with you.

This is the first of three Scorpion eclipses. Whatever is coming to an end, remember that it’s only the beginning of something else for you to discover.
