3. Fedora Astronomy Suite
Fedora AstronomyFedora has a collection of programs that provide features for imaging, spectroscopy and photometry. The packages can be used in any order and are designed to work together.
The user is prompted to select which applications the package will include during installation. This helps to minimize friction. This project aims to be simple, as it reduces the configuration and installation required to get started.
This is an experiment to see what happens. FedoraIt can be used as a starting platform for astrophysics software. This operating system was designed to be simple to use by all science nerds regardless of their Linux experience. It has many applications, is small in size, and is compatible to most modern astronomical programs.
4. Fedora Scientific
As a Linux distribution intended for science geeks. Fedora ScientificWhen it comes to standing tall against the main Linux distributions, it does not fall behind.
Fedora ScientificLinux is an operating system that propels the hopes for science outside of information technology/computer sciences by slowly allowing the interloping traditional scientists with Linux.

Fedora Scientific, as a whole, should be installed on a Fedora Base System for an optimal experience so that you can make accurate scientific deductions.
Lin4NeuroScientific Linux distribution is a niche player on this list, with a history going back many years and having its origins from Japan. This Linux distribution is intended for neuroimaging analysis.
Lin4NeuroIt is categorically regarded by specialists in neuroscience as the de facto operation system. This is because it is operated by a veteran in this field who is apparently available for support to users of the same caliber.
The most recent version of Lin4NeuroIt is built on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. It uses the exact same XFCE desktop environment as Xubuntu similar lightweight distributionsThis will make it easier for users to use the app.
However, it is important to note that there’s no guarantee the bundled applications will run satisfactorily on really dated hardware.

A comprehensive list of operating systems like the distributions for science is impossible to compile, especially considering the possibility that there may be even more flavors.
Popularity is an important criterion. This tends to correlate with product quality. These operating systems will cover the majority of science-related uses cases that you wouldn’t be able to access with a traditional Linux distro.
